| Being 30 kilometers away from the city proper, 28 kilometers away from Zhenjiang city, Nanjing Longtan Logistics Base is located in Qixia district, east of Nanjing, and in the middle between Nanjing, Zhenjiang and Yangzhou.It covers an area of 10.5 square kilo meters, with a 7.6-kilo meter- long deepwater coastline right ahead. The coast line is the exclusive area unused in Nanjing so far, with an area of 1 kilo meters long behind the port being allocated to the development of Nanjing Longtan Logistics Base. |

Nanjing Longtan Logistic Base was initiated in Aug. 2002. As the demonstration logistic base,with Nanjing Communications Construction Investment Control Stock (Group) Co., Ltd, Nanjing Port Authority and State-Owned Assets Investment Center of Qixia District, Nanjing City as its main stock holder, it is orientated to an international logistics platform, a large-scale port industry base and a international trade window. Furthermore, this Base will develop into a modern new city with port-related manufacture industry as the main body by taking multimodal container transportation as its core superiority, hence a hot spot and highlight of Nanjing¡¯s development along the Yangtze River.
Since year 2005 July, the Customs Administration of China for setting up a bonded logistics center of customs around 0.86 square kilometers at Longtan port within Longtan Logistics Base. The Bonded Logistics Center, relying on Longtan international container port, institutes coordination between itself and the port, with international logistics at the port as the core, international trade, oceanic transport, ship and merchandise agencies, storage, merchandise delivery, commercial exhibition, information and financial service as contents, various economic entities in Nanjing and vast areas along the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River as targets, hence rendering one-way-through service concerning import and export of goods in bond, under supervision and control as well as value addition through processing. |
